Meatpies are delicious and easy to make.
For the crust, i made a classic 3-2-1 crust using 3 cups four, 2 sticks of butter, a pinch of salt and 1 cup of cold water. Butter is the key here, when you mix the ingredients together, you want big globs of butter in your dough. This way, when the butter melts in the crust, it helps form the layers. After you get your crust made, you need to figure out what kind of filling you like. This is a great way to use your food storage or canned meat and veggies. however, this is not necessary, you can use this as a way to use up leftovers, or just cook a roast in the oven or slow cooker.
Canned beef stew will also work on a pinch, and if you want to make pot pies, canned Chunky Soup is an easy way to fill them. I used roast beef, potatoes, carrots, onions and a gravy that i made by adding a little corn starch to the liquid from the meat. . TIP! make mini pot pies using a muffin tin.
Bake at 350 for about 30-40 mins until golden brown.
